Soooo I've been reading quite a few books lately, as per usual, ya know, who can read just one book at a time?! Clearly, not me.
I recently picked up the new book Edge of Eternity, which is the third and final installment in the Century Trilogy by Ken Follett. So far, so depressing, which is to be expected with the time period. Also, wowza, so many characters, I took the liberty of counting the number of characters...102. :O All of that aside, it is evident that I do enjoy the series, writing is great and story line, well, it's pretty darn good.
I've also been reading The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins. I've had this book for what seems like forever, whenever I feel really energized, focused and feeling sciency I'll pick it up. Definitely not light reading before bed.
Another book that has been hanging around for a while is Miles in Love by Lois McMaster Bujold. There are so many books in this saga, they are all incredible. I think I'm subconsciously dragging it out, I don't know what I'll do for this type of scifi fix once I'm done the series.
Lastly, I am on and off reading the Casebook of Sherlock Holmes, it's a bundle of Sherlock stories. I've read several different books, some of which have repeating stories, but always a few new ones. I picked this one back up after watching the BBC show Sherlock. It reignited my love for Sherlock.
I also thought it might be useful to link my Shelfari account below. It'll show all the books I've read, which are my favourites and which I plan to read. Might give you a few suggestions. Feel free to give me suggestions as well, either on here or on Shelfari, they are always much appreciated.
Zat is all for now,
Tasha

What I'm Reading 06.06.11
I've just finished the Ring of Solomon by Jonathan Stroud, boy was I not disappointed! I was afraid for some odd reason that the book might fall into some crazy off the wall plot but alas it did not! It turned out to be one of the best Bartimaeus books, I really do hope the author plans on making many more, the story allows him to do so soooo easily. As usual Bartimaeus is the star, he's incredibly witty and hilarious, it's almost unfortunate that it can't be more detailed in The Bartimeaus trilogy: The Amulet of Samarkand, The Golem's Eye and Ptolemy's Gate.
Oh and I started to read Miles, Mystery & Mayhem, well rather I started to read it again.
That's all for now folks!

What I'm Reading 05.30.2011
Alrighty! I have just completed the book Body of Lies by Iris Johansen. It was really good, I was quite impressed. I do recommend it, it almost reminded me of the DaVinci Code in a sense, fast passed mystery/adventure. Secondly I read Bloody Valentine from De La Cruz, that book was by far way too small, it's at most 150 pages? It was still really good though, continuation of the Blue Bloods story, I was pleased with the outcome. Can't wait for the next one though, luckily it comes out this October.
Next on my reading list is The Ring of Solomon, a Bartimaeus book, man am I excited to read this book or what!! I hope it's just like the others, all witty, silly and adventure-y.
That's all for now folks!!

Books That I've Read
I thought it would be fun to go over some old books that I've read, for now I think I'll stick to series.
One of my favourites is of course Harry Potter, I started to read them once the 3rd book had been released, or was it the fourth? It goes without saying that I just about devoured the first book and then everyone following it. Then when I heard movies were coming out I almost died. Which reminds me how darn excited I am for the second part to the last movie, I sure hope they do it justice. They tend to cut out a lot of things that would be amazing and manipulate the story line for who knows that reason. Anywho in summary, excited to see!
Deathnote is an amazing series, it's a manga and there are only 12 of them. Absolutely spectacular, the story is so well written I wish it were a full sized book. Although it's quite surprising how much detail they can go into with a whole bunch of pictures everywhere. I've yet to watch the entire anime, it's pretty much the exact same thing just animated lol Oh and I have watched the first part to the live action version, that was pretty wicked. I still have to get my hands on the second part.
The Bartimaeus Trilogy is another great series. It follows this young magician named Nathaniel, he summons this old wise crackin' daemon named Bartimaeus, the whole book has footnotes of this guy's real thoughts, totally hilarious. There is a fourth book I just found out about that I am so excited to read, pure Bartimaeus heaven.
The House of Night series, it's not so great. Truly it's a guilty pleasure to say the least, on a birthday a friend bought me the first book, being the book freak that I am I decided well since I have the first I have to get the second. Unbeknown to me at the time this darn thing turned into I believe 8books? It's craziness, I don't think they are anywhere near the ending of the series either, so here I am buying all these mediocre books just to have the full series. Seriously sometimes I believe I'm insane, on the bright side it's kinda hilarious how terrible these books are, so it's not all bad.
The Blue Bloods novels are really good, they're an upgrade of the house of night series in a nutshell. Likable characters, good plot, interesting twists, writing style is average pretty much a good quick read. Nice breakup between intense science books.
Lastly I have Vampire Diaries, I actually really liked this series, then when the TV show came out oh man. Totally different than the way the books came out to me, then out of nowhere a slew of Vampire Diaries books came out. I'm not even going to bother to read them, regardless of my "I like to have the whole series" mentality.
Well that's pretty much each for now,
Tasha xoxo

What I'm Reading
Alright so I haven't posted in ages, there is no excuse. Well I'm a reader not exactly a writer? Since the last time, I've read the books that I had in this section (thank god). Here is my quick opinion on the books, mostly because they aren't completely fresh in my memory.
The Red Queen, was absolutely great, I really enjoyed it, I even tried quoting it. I recommend it to anyone who loves Biology, or wants to know why do we have sex? Or rather theories on why we have sex. (Honestly it seems so obvious but this book makes you look at it in a totally different way)
Next is Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy a trilogy in 5 parts. Incredible, anyone who loves sci-fi, comedy, randomness and good books needs to read it. If you can, also watch the original BBC tv show, it's friggin' awesome.
The other Miles book I did not finish, those books are so good but for some reason I get distracted by other smaller easier to read books where I need not think. Someday I will buck up and read it, I really can't see why I'm procrastinating so much with this series.
I'm currently reading Body of Lies by Iris Johansen, I bought it at a yard sale last summer for about 5cents if I remember correctly. It's really not that bad, I'm usually quite wary of ugly covered paperback books that all look alike. I'm prejudiced thinking they're all smutty or boring, when it's actually the other way around. The beautiful covers, shiny spines and oooo aaa names are mostly all the same boring ones. I'm really enjoying it to say the least. Hopefully I'll be done soon and I can give a fuller review than my previous ones.

Buffy 1.0 (Spoiler For the Non-Watcher)
I just recently re-watched all of season 5 of Buffy with my boyfriend. Last night him and I finished the last episode(The Gift- also the 100th episode) and I can't help but cry every single time. I couldn't of imagined following it on TV for the first time, thinking that it was truly the ending of the series.
I was lucky enough to have caught it midway through season 6 while it was playing on TV. Full on Spuffy action, it's really a great introduction to the series, quite a spoiler though! From there I watched the rest of the series I believe during the summer then resumed season 7 once September had rolled around. I'm glad the series ended the way it did, because it gave me the satisfaction of having a Buffy/Spike relationship, without being very very very depressing like The Gift would have been. Oh yeah Dawn is still majorly annoying though =(
That's all for tonight folks,
Tasha xoxo
